Motion 101

Course Description

Motion is the perfect application for editors looking to create compelling graphic content without having to farm the work out to a graphics lab. This two-day course provides a comprehensive overview of Motion, Apple`s real-time design motion graphics application. The course covers interface fundamentals, particles, blend modes, layer organization, fundamental multi-layer editing techniques and advanced text effects.

Launching Final Cut Express, The Final Cut Express Interface, Menus, Shortcuts and the Mouse, Working with Projects in the Browser, Selecting Window Layouts, Working with Bins, Quitting and Hiding Final Cut Express.

Using Templates
Preparing the Project, The Timeline and the Canvas, Playing a Sequence in the Timeline, Working with Timeline Tracks, Playing the Sequence from the Canvas.

Using Blend Modes
Blending Objects, Creating a Title, Adding a Logo, Changing Media Properties, Adding the Explosion and Sound.

Keying

This three-day hands-on course will familiarize students with Motion, Apple`s revolutionary software for motion graphics design. The course comprehensively covers working with Motion`s Real-Time Design engine and interface, behavior-based animation, parameter behaviors, blend modes, advanced particle system design, advanced title animation, working with templates, chroma key techniques, masking methods, DVD motion menu design, tablet-driven gesture UI techniques, working with audio, keyframing, and integration.
